Sponsors/Donors Wanted

Do you know a business who would be interested in donating or sponsoring a team for the Southern Stars Baseball Club?
Like all small clubs we look for potential sponsors each year. Sponsorship or donations go toward maintaining the field and facilities for our players.
We are now looking for sponsors or donors who may like to assist us to reach our goals. We do have a few extra items we would like ie: batting cages, new equipment (a yearly occurrence) or maybe sponsor a team junior or senior.

25 Years of Southern Stars

Dear Southern Stars Baseball Club member,
Welcome to the start of our 25th season.

Our sign-on dates have been released with come and try included for any new players.
We hope you will see our flyers, signage and school newsletter ads throughout the next few months as we prepare for our new season

With advertising being our biggest recruitment process for junior players we hope to attract many new members as well as seeing many friendly familiar faces.
As you may be aware we have received significant funding from local and state government to upgrade our lighting, re-vamp our fields and clubhouse as well as push forward with some new training gear as well, we thank Mr. Cameron Dick our State Member for his ongoing support

Our association with local business and Bunnings Browns Plains will see us able to continue our fundraising activities during the year as we attempt to not only give our members affordable sporting opportunities but manage our ever increasing costs.

Our fees have been updated in the fee section of the website. We have our payment plan options available again this season - the affiliation fee with BQ and BA is to be paid upfront on sign on this option is available in the sportlomo portal.

As per years gone by we are looking for volunteers for scoring, for each team nominated, if you are able to assist in any way we would like to hear from you so the Club can continue to look forward to the season without the added pressure on our committee and coach's.

Bring a friend, colleague, family member, neighbour get them to sign on or sign on their children, get those to then bring a classmate, the teacher get them to sign on lets spread the word to everyone we know that Southern Stars Baseball Club is the best family sports club in this area, the best Baseball club in Logan. Kids as young as 7 - 8 through to adults up to any age that they want.
Let’s all make this our 25th season our biggest and brightest yet
Thank you for your support
Andrew Gallpen

Upgrades to facility

For those who are members and visitors to our club already, you would have seen the changes were beginning prior to Covid-19 lockdown. Well that has not stopped us from continuing our goal to improve our club. With grant funding we have been able to upgrade the lower fences of the entire field, new equipment for our junior players, internal painting of our club house, new privacy screens around the bathrooms, new murals adorn the external walls, new concrete paths removing any trip hazards, painting of the home dug out courtesy of Dale Cliff who volunteered his time, and a window in the home dug out courtesy of Andrew Gallpen.
Bunnings Browns Plains came to the plate and painted the men's and women's bathrooms, the umpires and disabled bathroom as well, Dunrite Pest control donated a full internal and external pest treatment, to which we are very grateful to all our donors.

Out of the ballpark and into the Stars!

With the season coming to an abrupt end due to Covid-19, we had 2 senior teams vying for spots in the finals our Div 5 & Div 4 teams had great seasons, with our Div 5 Pitcher Dale Cliff picking up the GBL MVP award for the season.

Our Womens had a good season, however did not make finals. Many thanks to all our new and returning players we look forward to this season, bring a friend we would like to increase our women participants within the club. A massive thanks to Chris Hammond for coming onboard to assist with the coaching, Rick Waterworth for scoring, Andrew Gallpen for Umpiring.

Masters had 2 teams last season and what a season they had. The Maroon team were looking great with a few wins under their belt through the season they are our longest playing Masters team and we look forward to Jong and the team returning this season.

The Blue team had a lot of fun each week, this team was a mixed team who each week developed  their playing skills and look to return again this season.

With 2 little league teams competing in Div 1 & Div 2 we would like to thank the coaching staff of both teams for their dedication and commitment to the players. We watched each team improve weekly. Our coaches for Div 1 Matt Adams, Liam Robinson and Garry Burns and Div 2 Nathan Ricketts and Chris Hammond. Special thanks to our scorers, managers and umpires who without you games could not go ahead.
