Historic 3rd Masters Team

We did it the Southern Stars are the first GBL club to enter 3 Masters teams into the Monday night competition. A huge congratulations to the club on the work that goes on behind the diamond (scenes). Without the dedication of the committee members we would not have seen such growth.

Welcome to new families

What a start to the season, juniors start tomorrow after a washed out first game on the 13th October. We welcome many new players to the club this season as well as our returning families. It has been a great start with so many players this season trying our great sport. Good luck to all teams throughout the season. Juniors will increase their knowledge as the weeks go by. We have renamed our junior little league rams teams Liam's team is the Rockets, Karens team are the Astros. Nathan is coaching our little under 10 Rookie ball team this season again.

FUNDRAISING

HI there,

We have a Bunnings BBQ on the 14th October and are looking for volunteers to assist. As this is a senior playing day we will need parents from the Junior teams to assist. I have a coordinator for the day with many thanks to Noel, who did a fantastic job at our last BBQ. Fund raising is an integral part of raising funds for the club to make repairs to running tracks and purchase equipment where needed. All assistance from families is greatly appreciated.

We will also be hosting another on a Junior game day in November this is where I will require Senior players to volunteer their time to assist with fund raising.

From Left Field to Dugout #8

Hi all,

Welcome to another year of baseball at the Southern Stars. This year we see growth in our teams, we have 5 Senior Teams in total 2 Div 4, 1 Div 5 and 2 Masters Teams. Our junior ranks we have 2 Little League teams and a Rookie Ball Team. Unforunately we were not able to fill higher junior teams but good news is that our players will join with Beenleigh to make the Hawk Stars again.

We also may have the first all women's team competing in a short 8 week season - keep an eye out as this is the maiden season for a GBL women's comp and we are in there with a chance, and the opportunity to introduce more women to baseball.

Senior games begin this weekend 7th October, at 8.30am we see the Div 5 side verse Pine Hills Lightning. Div 4 White are playing in Toowoomba at 11.45am and Div 4 Black are at West Bulldogs at 10.45am. Looking forward to a great weekend of baseball.

Junior games begin on the 13th October, both our little league teams may be at home this weekend, so will need assistance in the canteen.

This year the Southern Stars are all over Grant applications to date 5 grant applications have been lodged for funding from Lighting Upgrades and repairs to equipment, ground maintenance and if you have not yet seen we have made repairs and alterations to the batting cages.

Have a great weekend and keep on smiling.

Sign - on's are continuing this week-end so if your keen to play we're keen to see youWow

Plenty of other things happening off the field as well with fund raising and preparations well under way for the 2015/16 season.

We are still looking for more junior & senior players for all our teams as we try to make this one of our biggest seasons ever building on our efforts from last season.

there has been a great response so far after a fun day at the Calamvale Carnival and our facebook page has hit the 200 mark not a bad effort but our aim is for 500 before the season startsCool

We are looking for a volunteer for our canteen this season who can assist with purchasing as well as co-ordinating other people for both Saturday & Sunday games quite probably most week ends, this position is voluntary but will attract a substantial reduction in fees. worth thinking about we hope.

our new fee structure is on the website so please have a look and forms are available to be emailed or pick one up this Saturday.

Cheers for now and See You at The Ballpark!!
